LA CAVALCADA DE REYES

Welcome to the Magical Three Kings Parade in Barcelona! 🎉

Get ready, Barcelona! On January 5th, the city will sparkle with joy and excitement as we welcome Their Majesties—the Three Kings: Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar! 👑✨

✨ The Story Behind the Parade

The Three Kings Parade, or *Cavalcada*, is a cherished tradition celebrated across every city in Spain! This magical event commemorates the arrival of the Wise Men, who brought gifts to the baby Jesus. It’s a time for families to come together and celebrate, filled with joy and wonder.

🎈 Kids eagerly write letters to the Kings, sharing their hopes and wishes for gifts and toys. Many of them prepare bags or totes at home, ready to collect an abundance of sweets and treats, like caramels and candies, tossed from the floats during the parade. It’s a delightful moment of anticipation and excitement! 📜💌🍬

🕓 When & Where?

The festivities kick off at 4:O0 PM at Portal de la Pau, where the Kings will arrive aboard the beautiful schooner Santa Eulàlia! The mayor will greet them with a traditional offering of bread and salt, handing over the keys to the city. 🗝️🍞

🎶 The Parade Begins!

At 6:00 PM, the long-awaited parade will start! 🎊 Led by page boy Gregori, page girl Estrella, and page boy Omar, along with their merry band of postmen, the Kings will dazzle us with their spectacular floats. Prepare for a night filled with music, colorful street performances, and magical surprises that everyone—young and old—will cherish! 🌈🎭
